Inside 4REGOVERLAND's Toyota Tundra Alu-Cab Basecamp Build

Every overland build starts with a simple question: How can we make life on the road easier?

For this custom project, the goal was to create a highly organized, durable storage system inside a 2022+ Toyota Tundra equipped with an Alu-Cab canopy, one that could comfortably support extended travel, off-grid camping, and everyday adventure without sacrificing accessibility or usable living space.

Inspired by the needs of 4REGOVERLAND, this build became a carefully planned mobile basecamp where every piece of equipment has a purpose and every inch of space works harder.

A Purpose-Built Basecamp

Rather than filling the truck with loose gear and storage bins, we designed a clean, modular system that transforms the rear cargo area into a functional workspace and living area.

The build centres around a three-piece modular platform, making it easier to organize equipment while still allowing access for maintenance or future upgrades. Dedicated storage areas keep essential gear secure, protected, and easy to reach, whether you're preparing meals, setting up camp, or tackling remote trails.

A durable rubberized floor was chosen throughout the storage area to withstand muddy boots, wet equipment, and the daily demands of life off the pavement while remaining easy to clean after every adventure.

Designed Around Real Overland Travel

One of the strengths of this build is that every storage compartment serves a specific purpose.

Dedicated spaces were incorporated for:

• Fridge storage
• Portable toilet
• Battery and power systems
• Camp kitchen equipment
• Recovery gear
• General camping essentials

By giving each item a permanent home, the system stays organized even during long trips, allowing you to spend less time searching for equipment and more time enjoying the journey.

The centre platform was also designed to be convertible, providing additional flexibility depending on the day's adventure or campsite setup.
