When it comes to custom Airstream renovations, every project tells a story—and this one is about transformation, collaboration, and craftsmanship. Just outside of Hamilton, ON, a 1976 Airstream Excella trailer was taken down to its bare shell and reimagined into a modern, high-end living space on wheels.
This full renovation was a joint effort between our clients, Stone Cold Renovations, and our team here at Overland Interiors. The result? A one-of-a-kind Airstream makeover that blends timeless design with thoughtful function.
Starting with a Blank Slate
The project began with the Airstream completely gutted. With the structure stripped to its bones, the possibilities were endless. Stone Cold Renovations rebuilt the walls and bathroom, and installed warm plank flooring throughout. Their work created the perfect canvas for us to bring in the details that make a space truly feel like home.
Overland Interiors: Crafting the Heart of the Space
Our role was to design and fabricate custom furniture and storage solutions to define the Airstream’s new interior. Using premium birch plywood, we created:
- Kitchen Cabinetry – tailored for efficiency and durability, with clean lines that elevate the aesthetic.
- Bathroom Cabinetry – designed to maximize function in a compact space.
- Wardrobe – stylish, practical storage.
- Utility Storage – ample space to discreetly house the water tank while adding extra storage.
- Bed & Bed Storage – a practical, stylish sleeping solution with side storage.
- Window Trim & Doors – detailed finishing touches that tie the entire design together seamlessly.
Each piece was thoughtfully planned and built to complement the flow of the Airstream.
A High-End Renovation, Never Rushed
A project of this caliber could not—and should not—be rushed. Every cabinet, panel, and joint was crafted with care to ensure the finished product is as durable as it is beautiful. The result is an elevated modern Airstream interior that reflects the clients’ vision while showcasing the best of what collaboration can achieve.
